Extractions and root canals in Oakland
When a tooth is causing you pain, waiting is the last thing you want to do. At Oakland Dental Associates we see walk-ins Monday through Friday for same-day relief — whether you need a tooth pulled or a root canal to save it. We'll explain your options clearly so you can make the best decision for your situation.
Tooth extractions
Sometimes a tooth is too damaged, decayed, or crowded to save. We perform both simple and surgical extractions, including wisdom teeth removal. The procedure is done under local anesthesia, and we'll make sure you're comfortable throughout. We'll also discuss replacement options like implants or bridges so you know your next steps.
- ✓Simple extractions for loose or damaged teeth
- ✓Surgical extractions for impacted teeth
- ✓Wisdom teeth removal
- ✓Same-day treatment for dental emergencies
Root canal therapy
A root canal saves a tooth that's infected or badly decayed — removing the damaged tissue inside, cleaning the canal, and sealing it. Despite its reputation, modern root canal treatment is no more uncomfortable than getting a filling. We use digital x-rays to see the full picture and work carefully to relieve your pain while preserving your tooth.
What to expect
We'll start with an exam and x-rays to understand the problem. Then we'll talk through your options — saving the tooth versus extracting it — with honest recommendations and clear pricing. Most extractions take 20 to 40 minutes. Root canals may take a bit longer depending on the tooth. We'll give you aftercare instructions and check on your healing at a follow-up visit.
Insurance and Denti-Cal
Denti-Cal (Medi-Cal Dental) covers extractions and root canals for adults and children. Most PPO insurance plans also cover these procedures. We accept CareCredit, credit cards, and cash. If you're in pain and worried about cost, come in anyway — we'll figure out the financial side together.
